We see investable whitespace in companies that have developed ‘hacks’ that increase renewable energy deployment by improving project design to unlock project financing (especially at small scales), solving permitting and interconnection issues, scaling transmission, optimizing for when power is used and finding other ways to ensure reliable access to electricity–especially in areas where electrical grids require retrofit.
CLEAN TRANSPORTATION
We see investment opportunities intertwined in the transition to electric personal and fleet vehicles. EVs are well positioned to advance the clean energy transition due to their ability to act as a distributed storage asset and the expected increase in electricity demand for charging. Beyond the adoption of EVs, we see whitespace in alternative fuels infrastructure, route optimization, smart traffic systems and transportation mode switching.
