MIKE WINTERFIELD - CEO and Fund Manager
Top 40 under 40. 20 years in the tech industry specializing in services companies and SaaS products. 14 years in various executive roles, most recently President of Traction Rec and COO at Traction on Demand. Prior to that President of Randstad Professionals running $300M in revenue. Expertise in enterprise sales, building high performing teams, improving operational efficiency and execution. Board of directors at DSRF. Mentor/EIR at NVBC, Founder Institute and Spring Activator. Queen’s BSC, INSEAD exec MBA, Beedie Directors Education Program (DEP). Avid lover of nature and any form of outdoor activity or experience.
TOM BODDEZ - Partner
Tom has spent the last 25 years in tax law, earning his way to senior partner at Thorsteinssons LLP. He has served as the Managing Partner, and also as a Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Tom is regularly recognized as one of Canada's leaders in the field of tax controversies, working with high profile individuals, families and corporations. Tom will start by serving on our advisory committee while he winds down his practice and then as time permits he will become more actively engaged on the management team of the fund. Tom is humble, values aligned, smart, hard working and has incredible experience with high value and complex transactions that will serve him well in this new capacity.
IMRAN JIWA - Director of Impact and Finance
Holds a CPA designation, which he obtained with KPMG in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications group. For six years, he advised clients with revenues ranging from $10 million to $2 billion and financial institutions managing over $20 billion in assets. Working at the nexus of sustainability and business, he advised companies on their ability to respond to climate change, impact and financial reporting, and impact investing strategies. Imran is a sessional instructor teaching Sustainable Finance and Accounting to students at BCIT and an instructor for the CPA Professional Education Program.

SANA KAPADIA - Sourcing and Gender Lens Advisor
Chief Impact Officer at Spring where she drives its mission to help entrepreneurs build better businesses and raise smart capital. She brings a rich global background in impact investing, investment banking and equity research. She is also the co-founder of RAISE Collective, a community of female investors, founders and champions changing the gender ratio in investment. She actively mentors social entrepreneurs, provides financial literacy training and is an active guest speaker, facilitator, and judge at various social impact events, helping to foster the impact and tech start-up ecosystems.
JOEL SOLOMON - Impact Ecosystem Advisor
Chair of Renewal Funds, Canada's largest mission venture capital firm. With $98m assets under management, Renewal Funds invests in Organics and EnviroTech. Senior Advisor with RSF Social Finance, Founding Member of Social Venture Network, Business for Social Responsibility, the Tides Canada Foundation, and Board Chair of Hollyhock. Co-Author of The Clean Money Revolution, a call to action to move trillions of dollars from damaging to regenerative use.
JAMES PRICE - Institutional Advisor
Director of Capital Markets at Richardson GMP. CFA charter holder since 2006. Helps clients and advisors structure and execute investment strategies in all markets and asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, mutual and hedge funds, and private equity and credit. Extensive experience straddling both the “buy” and the “sell” side of the investment industry, analyzing management strategies, diligence on countless investment products and help design total client portfolios to achieve their goals.
BILL YOUNG - Foundation Advisor
Prior to founding Social Capital Partners in 2001, Bill spent twenty years in the private sector leading high growth, entrepreneurial organizations. He was CEO of Hamilton Computers, a publicly traded company that grew from $15 million to $250 million under his leadership and was sold to GE Capital. He currently sits on a variety of boards for social enterprises and community organizations, and is a member of the Canadian Task Force on Social Finance. In 2013, Bill was appointed as a member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to Canadian society and his innovative achievements as a social entrepreneur and philanthropist.
JIM FLETCHER - Deal Terms Advisor
A 30-year veteran of the Canadian venture capital industry. Jim has participated actively across all funding stages from founding management through personal angel investment, institutional venture capital, corporate venture investment and a variety of public and private exits. He has also been actively involved in many public policy initiatives designed to foster a healthy Canadian environment for early-stage companies and venture investors. Jim has been a Managing Director with Venture West and Chrysalix Energy Management, overseen corporate venture investing as Treasurer of MacMillan Bloedel, and was founder and CEO of China Capital, CFO of the Angus Reid Group, and a Director of many technology companies.
ANIL PATEL - Digital Operations Advisor
As an Ashoka and Action Canada Fellow, Anil has been at the intersection of social change and technology for over 15 years. He's a proven digital strategist, design thinker and organizational builder with a passion for innovating programs and services so that they ‘surprise and delight’ their users. A strong track record of translating trends into practical capacity building approaches using human-centered design practices and principles, building partnerships and envisioning multiple futures across competing timelines and priorities. Anil co-founded the Timeraiser (a program of Framework) and GrantBook, a B-corp specializing in digital strategy for foundations and grantmakers. He has served as a Trustee with United Way Toronto, Ontario Trillium Foundation, and Youth Challenge Fund.
